Bell's Oberon earlier.
Oskar Blues G'Knight. A big hoppy kick ass imperial red. This beer is soooooooo good. Glad to see it back out during the spring season.
Yep, it's hard to get people into brewing because people don't realize how much work it is or how long it takes. Most people think (at least my friends) its awesome until all of the work they see (or waiting or equipment you have to buy). It takes a lot of time and investment. Most people...
Ok well I have a general starting point. Thanks. I will take it from here. When I sit back and look at it, it seems a little on the low side for a IIPA (the total amount of hops used). Maybe I will turn it up a notch on the later additions. Thanks.
Brewing a IIPA tonight and this is the proposed recipe:
4.25 gallons
13 lbs MO
1 lb. C-40
Mash at 149 F
3/4 oz Columbus (12.7%) - 60 mins
1 oz Centennial (9.0%) - 15 mins
1 oz Centennial - 12 mins
0.5 oz Cascade (7.7%) - 10 mins
1/4 oz Columbus - 0 mins
1/2 oz Cascade - 0 mins...
Nice brother. I was suppose to make IIPA as well but ended up making a stone levitation clone. I then deviated from that stone clone and ended up making a hoppy red. Here is the recipe:
5.5-5.75 gallons
9 lbs MO
0.5 lb C-20
0.5 lb C-80
0.5 lb C-120
Mashed at 149
1/2 oz Simcoe - 60 mins...
I am brewing tomorrow as well and plan on brewing this IIPA:

1 lb. Crystal 40
0.75 oz Columbus - 60 mins
1 oz Centennial - 15 mins
0.5 oz Columbus - 15 mins
0.5 oz Cascade - 10 mins
0.75 oz Columbus - 0 mins
0.50 oz Cascade - 0 mins
1 oz Simcoe - 0 mins...
I go on spells. once a week for 6 weeks and then once a month. And then I will not make beer for 2 months and then get froggy and make a batch a week for a month. But I probably average 15-20 batches a year.
