I have having a hard time cleaning the krausen off of a better bottle that I fermented a Dunkel Hefeweizen in.
I have soaked in PBW but it still won't come off. I am afraid of using a carboy brush to clean it but I don't know how to get it off.

I prefer LME, IMHO it's easier to use then DME. DME tends to cause boil overs more often if you are not careful. It can bee so messy if you get that powder anywhere, as soon as you open the package it starts to absorb moisture and get very tacky.

The water I use is RO (reverse osmosis) due to having a private Well. So my understanding is the RO water has very little minerals in it.
