Hi,
What kind of style and or use of the hop Ella do you guys think brings out the best of the hop.
I'm thinking a classic esb style recipe with late additions of Ella
Cheers!
I almost threw my refractometer in the bin the first time I used it. I didn't know about the alcohol changing the value either =)
I was freaking out until I found the tool in beersmith.
Thanks chessking,
What you just said is the only solution I can come up with as well.
I've just started doing 3 week primary, so maybe I dont have to cold crash anyway.
We'll see =)
Hi,
I was wondering how people go about brewing every 2 weeks, 3 week primary then cold crashing with only one fermentation chamber?
Is there a obvious cycle that Im missing?
Cheers,
Anders
Thanks alot for your help guys,
I agree with the spec grain might be a bit much.
Yooper, I thought 4 weeks primary then bottle was a good idea. Would you do 3 weeks then bottle?
Hi folks,
I would like some experienced input on this recipe, for peace of mind, confirmation etc =)

I really buy what people say about secondary might be unnecessary. The only reason I still do it is so that I can wash the yeast and save some money. Well here is my question.
Would it make sense to make a yeast starter 500 ml bigger than needed just to save in Mason jar, to use for a starter...
I'm in Courtenay / comox and I have a couple big bags of marris otter and gambrinius base malt if you're interested.

I'm reading the book right now, of you want more depth than what's in the book, then a PhD in micro biology is the next step :-)
