Mango Habenero IPA - I left the peppers in too long

I also made a beer that was too hot to drink. It was a dark beer. I dont drink any of it cuz it will burn your mouth, but it is fantastic in a pot of chili.

    5.2 Mash Stabilizer

5.2 Mash Stabilizer. Has anyone used this product before? I have been brewing for about a year now doing all-grain brewing and have produced some excellent beers. I have yet to do any water treatments and want to step up my game. I belive that doing some pH tests on my mash would be the next...

Strong banana and clove flavor in my hefe

I recently brewed a hefeweizen using Wyeast 3068 Weihenstephen Weizen yeast. I used my temperature controlled fridge and fermented it at 68F. It came out with strong banana and clove flavors which is typical for the yeast strain. All of the commercial hefeweizens that I have tried have not...

    Brewing with lactose.

When brewing with lactose, do you need to use separate equipment from your normal equipment? I thought I read somewhere that lactose can contaminate you equipment and future batches. I cant remember if what I read was talking about lactose or something else like lambics or something.

    1st mead attempt.

It has been 8 months since I made my first batch of mead. I want to carbinate it. Do I need to add more yeast after it has sat for 8 months, or just prime and bottle it?

    Fermentation Fridge

Thanks for the advice. I ended up making one of those DIY paintcan heaters. It works great. Little safety tip, When you mount the light holder to the top of the paintcan lid, make sure the wires are not touching the lid. I did this by mistake and it blew a hole through the top of the can. Luckly...

    Fermentation Fridge

Also, I made the temp control unit using the STC 1000. I was wondering if the temp. prob can be put in a cup of water for more accurate reading without damaging the unit.

    Fermentation Fridge

Just got done building a temperature control unit with cool and heat control. What do you use to heat inside your fermentation unit. I was thinking of using one of those reptile aquarium heating pads. I have a ceramic heat lamp in there now but it gets pretty hot and kind of scares me.

Home made heat stick build producing off flavors.

I just made my own heat stick kind of like the one in this link. http://www.3d0g.net/brewing/heatstick I have heated up two 3gallon pots of strike water to test temps and times. I used JB weld to make sure that the heat stick was all water tight and secure like it says to do in the...
