Here you go. Just something I threw together that I thought would help out.

Thought it might be useful when shopping for a pot, or finding one in a scrapyard and wondering, "how many gallons is this?"
 
Cool, but...

If you're gonna take the time to average boxes anyway -

Volume in gallons = 3.1415 * radius^2 * height * 0.004329

But bringing with you well looking at pots instead of a calculator is useful.

That's the formula I used.

I don't mean you have to pencil and paper it, just do it in yer head.
The avg. of 38,39,41 & 42 is 40. Close enough.
