A normal procedure for me is to cool wort down w immersion chiller to temp I want for post boil hop step, usually around 160F, remove the coil, and whirlpool briefly to center hot break.

One minor annoyance is often the trub will stay in circulation due to heat up drafts, negating the centering of the whirlpool somewhat. I think the effect might be worse in cold weather (I brew outside). It does not always happen, but has most of the time lately. I'm wondering a couple of things:

Anyone have a trick solution to this?

Anyone know at what temp the heat will stop circulation the hot break?

This is a minor issue, and it does not negatively affect outcome, but sometimes does result in clogged torpedo screen, slowing gravity feed to hop back.

Mainly just asking this while waiting for trub to settle again, as I'm all set up to pump though plate chiller and into fermenetor in cellar.
