Hi everyone.
I inherited a “medium” sized brown glass beerkeg in a wooden carry holder that my great grandfather would have delivered from a local brewery to his vaction cabin far up in a village northern sweden in 1930-1940s. It is a beautiful object however I am unsure wether it can still be used or not. I live in a small apartment in Brooklyn and have considering but remain undecided if I should sell it or not.
My google searches have not turned anythng similar to it.

the cap says it was from a brewery called ”Dalhems Bryggery” located in Östersund, Jämtland, Sweden.

i was hoping someone from the community can give me some information about what these are specifically called, what it could still be used for and whether there actually are collectors interested in buying something like this or not. Any thoughts, info or feedback would be greatly appreciated

Google image search “swedish beer bottle in wooden crate” and there are several examples. It could possibly still be usable with a thorough cleaning, but is just as cool as a decorative conversation piece.

They are called Damejeanne. They are not uncommon to find in vintage markets etc and quite popular I think. Whether yours are still usable I wouldn't know, I think most people use these old ones as an ornament.

Klass 1 beer would be the lightest of the beers, like a table beer.
