Does anyone know of any simple test to check the viability of my rennet without using (and possibly wasting) a gallon or more of milk? Thanks

How much rennet to use with 1 C of milk to use the result as indicative of sufficiently active rennet to coagulate a gallon? The brand? Is it Marschall? Cuajo?
