SCR vs TRIAC SSR

I'm in the market for two 32-40A solid state relays and some manufacturers list their relays as SCR or TRIAC... Would a SCR SSR only conduct on a half cycle vs the TRIAC on a full cycle?

I don't want to cheap out on this critical piece and cause a potential for fire or only get partial power from a half wave switch..

Did you guys end up with crydom, omron, or possibly Dayton or Automation Direct brand relays? I've seen to many burned up foteks to even bother.. so please stick to the higher end relays in your reply.
 
As you say, SCR only conduct half cicle. They are used to rectify.
You may use 2 SCR back to back.
That's basically what a TRIAC is, but integrated into a single device. AC SSRs have a TRIAC as the switching device.
