Hey all,

Just as the title says I accidentally pitched my ale yeast at 45 degrees Fahrenheit last night in my Spike CF5. Is this going to kill the yeast? Should I pitch new yeast on top? I don’t have the same yeast on hand but could put something else in.

Thanks so much!

Why would it kill the yeast? What temperature were those yeast when in storage?

Think of temperature as just affecting the activity level of the yeast. Though that is simplistic too, but it works.
