We got a couple new hop varieties in the shop this week at Farmhouse
Empire:
Propagated from old hop stock that originally came from Sweden on a farm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A good dual purpose hop with very unique aromas. Reminiscent of Cluster, but with overtones of plum, fig, cucumber, and mild wood.
These smell sweet and citrusy when we rubbed them in the shop with hints of earthy/wood notes. Cant wait to brew with them.
Cashmere:
Dual purpose hops with strong melon, lemon and lime profile. Slightly spicy with hints of fruit.
