Hello everyone!

I am planning on brewing a stout with the flavors of coffee and chocolate.

I am planning on making this an imperial stout and adding some liquor.

I have never used liquor before when Brewing beer. When do I add it? After primary fermentation is complete? How long after I add it before I can bottle it?

I plan on letting it age / condition what have you in bottles for several months.

I was just not sure when to add the liquor as well as how long after adding it to the beer in my fermentation pail do I have to wait before I bottle the beer.

Thanks!

In short, add/mix in the bottling bucket.

search "imperial stout" or "RIS" and you will find a long history of comments and techniques. Almost overbearing with the decades of posts, but well worth the reading if this style is something you want to master.

I have found a little goes a loooong way with liquor in beer (bourbon soaked oak or vanilla beans.. etc)

Just curious, why are you adding liquor instead of mashing to a higher original gravity?
