Beercation suggestions for the South and East Coast

I'm driving back from Jacksonville, NC to Oklahoma City, OK and looking to stop at breweries along the way. I'm not terribly familiar with that part of the country or it's breweries and looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Drive the the nearest airport, hop on a plane and come to the North West.

It's worth the 2.5 hours South on I-75 to Tampa to go to Cigar City Brewing. Then hit Swamphead in Gainesville on the way back up...

Abita in Louisiana is good too.

Could be my ignorance, but pretty sure you're out of luck after that. BTW, I made almost that same drive 2 years ago (Gainesville - OKC). Not a bad little trip at all. Get some Cajun food in Baton Rouge.

I guess it depends on what you are willing to tolerate for great beer and the great outdoors. Minor inconveniences pale in comparison. It would be better if the beer were free, mountains already are. :fro:
