The European Beer Consumers Union (EBCU) has published a style guide, led by Tim Webb, whose career has included organising CAMRA's Great British Beer Festival in the early days and writing books such as CAMRA's Good Beer Guide Belgium. It's more descriptive and less prescriptive than the BJCP, but it does a rather better job of capturing the spirit (and in many cases the facts) of European styles than the BJCP.

PS You can tell it's been written by a proper writer, there's some beauties in there like the definition of ESB, which I leave you to discover...
