Been doing HB for about 5 years, all kit>BIAB>cooler mash tun and now Grainfather.
Any groups for meetup and tasting s?

I have just ordered the grain father @gmlogan , any advice for a noob?
Use the GF online calculator for mash/sparge volumes, ignore what's in your recipe.

Put the filter in such that the rubber cap is protected from knocking off by the thermwell.

Getting the plates in when dry is pain withe the seals popping off, so put the malt pipe in as you hear the water so it expands, then remove and add the bottom plate.

Consider removing the spring/ball in the valve connecting the recirc arm, it traps hop matter and blocks.

Oh well, can do a bottle swap maybe some time. Think that's about the best bet for us rural Scots, given that my house is a 50 min drive from civilisation.
Also I'd like to apologise to anyone that read my gratuitous repetition of btw, btw.
