Hey all. So to date I’ve done no more than 2 gallons at time. I’m thinking of stopping up to 5 in the beer future. Can I use throes 5 gallon jugs of water as fermenter?

The plastic used in those 5 gallon jugs isn't meant for brewing or alcohol use, but having said that, I've used them and it works ok.
Look on your local craigslist or FB marketplace for cheap used equipment, but actually a brand new carboy isn't very expensive and many online retailers are offering discounts right now.

I think the big mouth has a spigot , for 50$ . Whatever you decide on, I'd definitely get one with a spigot, or add it .
