I did my 2nd all grain brew today - it went really smooth and since I went on top of the cake from the batch I just transferred, it started fermenting in about 15 minutes. I pulled off about 2 cups of the yeast and have that in a mason jar in my keg fridge, just waiting for the 3rd brew coming up soon.

I did a HG IPA today. 15+ lbs of grain for a 5 gallon batch, and a pretty aggressive hop schedule.

Thanks for the reply... yes the blow off tube is loosely assembled - It is airtight and allows krausen to blow off and you end up a little cleaner at transfer time IMHO.
