I visited that pub in October when I was there for my honeymoon. They like you stated have many choices just be prepared to pay for them... I suggest you go to Ellis Island http://www.ellisislandcasino.com/ . They have THE BEST value for food and beer. They also brew their own beer.

When in town, check out these places also!

The Yard House:

32 Degrees:

The Yard House has a large variety of brew on tap, quite expensive though. 32 Degrees is much cheaper. For example, DogFish on tap is $5 a pint or $6 for 22oz. For the most part, all beers are in this price range but a few of the more expensive brands like Stone which are $7 and $8.

I love 32 Degrees ...

The problem I find with these places (like the Yard House) is they are too foo-foo and very "plastic" in nature. No character, none. It is like a vanilla, white-wash, baked-down atmosphere. Ick! Look at all the fizzy beer they have.

In comparison, places like Toronado's in San Francisco HAS great wide selection of beers AND plenty of character(s).

We asked the bartender at the Yard House what the best selling beers were:
(1) Bud Light
(2) Coors Light
(3) Miller Light

However, in Vegas, there is a great liquor store about 2 miles off the strip that has a HUGE selection of beer, including many Belgiums. Stock up there and drink on the bus coming back to town....

There's always the Freakin Frog: http://www.freakinfrog.com/

You'll pay double for your brews but the atmosphere is great. I prefer to pay less ...

DogFishHead at the Freakin Frog is $8 for about 12oz. The rest of the stuff is up there too. While a great place and friendly people, the prices are high.

Sparky - which liquor store are you talking about?

Total Wine and More here has a crazy-variety of brews too. Very inexpensive. I'm sure you're talking about someplace else though.

Ultravista, hmmm, not sure. I was there 5-6 years ago and we kept trying to find a place that had Belgian beers. We asked everyone we saw and no one knew of any multi-tap or brewhouse. Maybe it was just bad luck on our part!

So, we are still in the hunt for beer, when the taxi driver dumped us off at some place about 2 miles from the strip where they had an EXCELLENT selection of everything (hell, maybe it was called Lee's). We loaded up and then had to catch a bus back since there was no taxi's out there.

The bus driver kept threatening to boot us off since we were brown bagging a bottle of Aventinus and Karmilet. :cross:

Glad to hear about the (new) places in town!!

I like the Yard house. Yeah its a little "trendy" so there is a bit of the "in crowd" in there but who cares. I pay them no attention. I always go there to have a few beers. Love tasting new brews i cant get at home and old favorites i likewise i cant get at home. I go for a burger and a few beers. Not looking to date the place nor the people in it so i could careless what the drapes and the people look like in it. :)

In the shopping area in between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay (closer to Mandalay) there is a burger bar, I think called Burger Bar, that has really good food and a pretty good beer list. Prices were reasonable.

There are also several stands along the strip that serve Sin City Brewery beers. I know there is one in the Flamingo by the pool in the back and I believe there is one in the Venetian. Some of the bars in town also carry it. I really enjoyed their hefe. I hear the stout is good but I didn't try it.

PRETTY GOOD beer list?!?! It's like ten pages front and back listed by country! PRETTY GOOD?!?! That place was epic. Maybe it's because I'm a back-woods hillbilly in Wyoming that's never seen a selection like that, but I was in Vegas for 3 days, and ate there 4 times. The burgers were amazing, but I barely noticed. I spent most of the time reading the beer list so I knew what to order when the waitress came by the next time.

I'll be in Vegas for a business trip in March (World Pizza Expo), and will make it a point to drag my co-workers there at least once.

200 on tap would make me suspicious. The beer we would order, I would question the quality coming from the tap...who knows how long that keg has sat there. How many people are ordering it? Beer seems to store better in the bottle (no lines to clean).

My .02

Yeah, I agree Burger Bar is a great place to go. Good food, the bartenders actually care about craft beers and know their stuff, and they have a good selection. Last time I was there we met the owner Hubert Keller, who's a really nice guy. It's not really a "bar" though...I mean the actual bar is only maybe 10 seats or something and it seems to be geared more towards the burgers, but I really like that place if I'm going by myself or with a couple of friends. A larger group, I'm not so sure.

I would go there any day over the place in Monte Carlo. I've been to that place when I stayed there with my wife. We had one beer and then decided to find somewhere else to spend the rest of the evening.

There's also 777 brewery in the main street station hotel/casino. I like this place because they keep the beers nice and cheap unlike everywhere else on the strip.
