So - where does one find grains of paradise...

can't find it.

Order it online if your local grocery store doesn't have any, its a pretty common spice so you shouldn't have much difficulty finding a vendor with low shipping cost and/or having other spices you are also looking to get.
 
I just got some from a specialty food store but I know there is some on Amazon. I actually held of on using them when I brewed today. I've read that it adds a peppery spice with a citrus edge, but when I crushed some I got a dirt-like aroma along with the pepper character. I could see someone calling it earthy, but it really just smelled like dirt. Debating on whether to use it at all...
