Was cleaning out my new HLT today and realized that because my valve is over an inch above the bottom, quite a bit of water gets left behind.

Was about to buy a dip tube when I thought to myself, why not just attach some silicone tubing to a barb and place the end in the centre of my HLT.

Has anyone done this before? I don't see why I wouldn't get the necessary suction.

I thought I'd post this question before cutting any tubing.

Over thinking.

It's a HLT. Who cares if there's an inch of water left behind? Pick it up and dump it. If your hose leaves a quarter inch behind, you're still going to have to dump it...

Cheers!

putting a street elbow on the inside works as a good poor mans dip tube as well.
