I am currently looking at a Extract American Amber Ale from AHS for my first brew, and was wondering if it would make any difference in taste or yeast cell count if I went with Danstar Windsor Dry Yeast and rehydrated it, then go with a starter with White Labs California Ale. The dry yeast is under "also recommended."

Also has anyone used a "alcohol booster" that boost your alcohol 1%. or should I avoid it? Thanks for the answers O Brewing community.

I cant wait to start brewing!!! AHHHH! :rockin:

For your first brew, I recommend just going with an easy kit. No experimentation and don't bother with the booster. It's just adding a sugar adjunct to boost abv.

Don't change the yeast, go with what they recommend and you will be happy. You can't go wrong with a AHS kit for your first brew. If they recommend Windsor , then you are good to go.
