I haven't really been here in 4 years and I'm back for a wedding. Damn this place is dying.

Are there any places around here to buy craft beer? The best I've seen in the Dayton area is Honey Brown and Longboard.

I'll be so happy when I get away from this place again.

Thanks ahead of time, guys and gals!

Dayton actually has quite a few good bottle shops. Jungle Jims, for starters. Check out beeradvocate.com for a complete listing.

+ 1 to Jungle Jim's, over 1000 different beers and the US's largest grocery store (foodie alert!). I would also recommend Belmont Party Supply, they have well over 500 different bottles. There is also a HB supply store operated by the same folks next door.

If you have a smart phone there is an app I use in my travels called "craft beer locator" it's very helpful.

Not sure where you are located while in town, but here you go:

Belmont Party Supply, Inc.

Dorothy Lane Market: Oakwood

Dorothy Lane Market: Washington Square:

Centerville Carryout:

Culinary Company

If you really want to venture out The Party Source just across the border at Cincinnati is excellent.

No need to thank me. Just send me a bottle of Pliny the Elder when you get back out west :)

Belmont Party Supply had nothing really good listed on their site, but I went and was pleasantly surprised by the selection. I ended up with a 6er of porter from Founders.

:D I would, but I'm sure my bottles would all be broken. I'm flying back.

Can't recommend any place to you in Dayton but there used to be a store called "The Emporium" in Yellow Springs that carried craft brews.

I also agree that Dayton (my hometown) is dying which is so sad. I have not been back for 3+ years but i do miss Cassano's pizza.

This place was awesome in the 90's. Cassano's is good. Sunday we'll be having Marion's Piazza.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Belmont's website as you found isn't always kept up to date as well as it could be, but they email me weekly informing me as to what is in new for the week. If you had time to make a quick trip 3 hrs south this place would be the highlight of your beer drinking on this trip.

Yeah, I was stoked about Founders. The closest it comes to the Phoenix area is St. Louis (I believe). Too bad I can't bring it back on the plane.

Are you just travailing with a carry on?

I have a bag we're checking, but I don't have room to pad the bottles with enough protection. The people who load/unload your bags find ways to break EVERYTHING.

This is true, hope you enjoyed your visit to the Buckeye state.
