so is there a distinct advantage in using the oxygen absorbing bottle caps over the regular ones? also how do you sterilize the oxy absorbing caps if they're activated by moisture?
 
Unless, you carbonate in a keg & use camden tables to kill the yeast before bottling, you are putting live yeast into your bottles, all of the O2 will be consumed. You don't need the caps.

I bottled for the 1st time last week- just used regular caps, soaked them in sanitizer, then rinsed them with cooled down boiled (sterilized) water. No leaks, and every bottle I have "sampled" so far has been great. I have no interest in complicating it any more, IMO..
