Hey All,

I just bottled today and i added my 5 oz of priming sugar into my 4.5 gallons of beer, it was 4.5 gallons because i had so much hop sediment on the bottom of my bucket and was bottling by myself i decided to sacrifice the extra brew for a cleaner less dirty beer. Since I added all of the sugar in will i get way too much carbonation in my beer? I've heard of bottles exploding, do you think this will happen to me? (I used some 22 oz bottles and some 12 oz bottles)

if you were at FG when you bottled, 5 oz won't pop bottles. it may be a bit on the high side of carbonation depending on style. what i do with carbing sugar is dissolve it all (be it 5 oz or 3) in 500ml of boiled water, then add 100ml of sugar water for each gallon in the bottling bucket.
