Hello Everyone - Myself and a friend who have been brewing beer for about a year and a half now are looking into brewing larger batches of beer. Currently we brew 5 gallons at a time. My questions is, if we were to begin brewing say 10 gallons, do the ingredients double. The only recipes we have are for 5 gallons and we don't want to go doubling all the ingredients if that is not the correct thing to do. We plan on fermenting the whole batch in one container. Thanks for the help in advance!

Yes, if you make a double batch, you double the ingredients. Boil for the same length of time, though.
Yep, the only thing that might change that is if you change your boil volume as a percentage of total batch size. If you are doing full boils for both 5-gal and 10-gal batches then everything should be simply doubled, but if you are going to try to do a more concentrated boil for the 10-gal batches then your hop utilization would drop and you'd have to compensate with even more than double the hops.

one other thing to consider, your evaporation rate might change during the boil, if your brew kettle gets much wider in diameter. more surface area = more potential evaporation.
