...........because people are posting this:

"No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day."

Regardless of where you stand on the current House Bill, I hate crap like this. Especially when 10 minutes later their "status" is changed to: "I just saved 50% on a blouse at Dillards!" Nice commitment to your cause people...

Clayton earned the "Extraordinary Farmer" level in FarmTown with 35000 XP points
Clayton can now buy Pepper seeds, Red Crocus flowers, Rivers and Bridges from the store.

hehe, the guy next office over has that as his status. Mainly just to f*ck with all his GOP friends.

As far as that statement goes...I dunno...no, nobody should die because they can't afford health care, but I'd like to see how many people die today because of that. Hospitals are required to save someone if they come in off the street with no insurance. medicaid covers some of that (not all, though). So that right there is a red herring. The second part is strange...so what WOULD be a good reason to go broke? What if I lost my job because of the sh*tty economy and I went broke? What if I accidentally t-boned someone and they took me to court and I lost it all. Look, I hate the idea of losing my life's savings because of something, but where do we stop? Why doesn't the government simply step in and prevent everyone from going broke? I mean, if your main goal is to keep someone from going broke through no fault of their own, then there are plenty of other things that the gov't should prevent.

You forgot to quote their next post... "And no one should be allowed to live in a country that ISN'T a Socialist regime."

Evan! would you mind if I put that as my facebook status? :tank:

Worse is those who have causes such as cancer. Several hundred thousand members support the cause and only a few hundred dollars donated. I saw someone join a group that was something like "I love Jesus" and then leave it later. Person has left the group "I love Jesus"

I'm glad I don't have any friends that pull that BS

Where do we stop and draw the line for reasons people should go broke? Situations they have control over vs. Situations they don't have control over.

You spend 99% of your paycheck on 24" rims for your escalade that you lied about your income on the loan application for

You get diagnosed with an auto-immune disease such as Type 1 diabetes, one of the most expensive chronic disease to care for...

Do you think those are both equal situations?

That being said
Making political comments via facebook status is pretty lame

Free care should be abolished! In MA it is illegal not to have health insurance. If you cant afford it then you get mass health for free(which is better than a lot of plans out there). My SWMBO is a clinical lab tech at brockton hospital. They just announced that this year NO ONE gets a raise, holiday pay,or any bonus what so ever. The reason being that brockton is a cesspool that has a lot of walk in shootings and other crime related injuries that they cannot refuse treatment. Those people don't have insurance and dont pay their bills even though they make more than most people from selling drugs and stealing.I don't agree that health care should be so expensive in the first place but what the F!Some scumbag doesnt pay his hospital bill so my wife cannot better herself even though she went to college and works her ass off!

End rant.

You know why I hate Facebook? Because the people I went to high school with and haven't seen in nearly 30 years are so busying Mafia Wars-ing and Yoville-ing that it covers my whole ****ing page. I don't want to play in a pillow fight, give you a chicken, read about your horoscope, or help you find the path to Nivana in a game. Maybe you don't work when you're at your desk, but stop clogging up MY stuff.

Now, I do want to hear about your life, your kids, and your hobbies. I do NOT want to wade through 3 pages of crap to see the notes.

Is there any way to "block" the **** stuff off of that page, and still see messages from friends?

Yes, but you have to each application as it pops up (ie Mafia Wavrs, Yoville, etc) or individual people. In the upper right hand corner of the notifications, there is a drop down Hide tab that you can make the selection from.

Yooper, use the "Hide" button (upper right-hand corner of any given post).

WTF? How did I NOT know this? Wow- do I feel stupid. But, thanks! It's much better now.

Now, how do I block Flyangler18 and Firebrewer? :D

I think it is a matter of them getting hacked or something. Is any one else getting wall postings about making $$ and losing weight? Either that or FB friends are going to infected sights. I also got the health care one. I do agree that the bots are annoying but I still digg FB. It helped me to re connect with old friends. The internets is a jungle so "Lets Be Careful Out There"

I posted that I am drinking a Hoegarrden and have a rare weeknight brew session.

and should I have salmon burgers or regular burgers?? I am awaiting validation from friends so I can decide...lmao!!

Got sick of seeing all the Health Care Reform posts on FB, so I wrote this up as my FB status:

No one should go thirsty because they can not afford good beer and no one should go broke because they get thirsty. Support your local craft brewery and no increase of excise taxes on beer. If you agree, go drink a craft brewed beer.

Feel free to use it! :D

I just set my status as:

"No one should die because health care is incompetently run by the same government that has failed at running everything else, and no U.S. citizen should go broke funding such a system."

Some of my family members posted it yesterday. My mom posted it. I don't dislike my Mom, but I chose not to repost it. Instead I posted something totally useless like Up to Nothing.

whos talking about politics? we are talking about face book and the dumb crap people post.

ollllo - feel free to move to debate forum if it gets political (it's probably eaiser than having to constantly monitor a thread that I probably should have just put in debate in the 1st place).
