So due to time restraints, I'm doing an extract brew w/grains. I let the steep water get too hot (~160f) and didn't have time to let it cool down so I steeped the grains and turn off the juice. After 25 mins it's down to 153F. I realize this is going to give me a sweeter beer, so how can I figure out how much additional ibu's to add to balance the beer as the original recipe? Thanks!

I found steeping can be done at target temps between 140-175F with no ill effects.
So no changes to your hop additions on your recipe.

Steeping or mashing? With steeping, you can go up to ~170. Only if you're mashing (trying to get fermentables) should you worry at all about 160.

What grains were these? Crystal? If so, that's steeping.
