Can I use a pack of Lalvin ICV-D47 that I have for this mead.....I also have bought a small 2 gallon plastic fermenter. Can I start this in there, then transfer it to a 1 gallon jug later on...
 
yes you can use that yeast. yes you can make a starter then pitch. but while you are waiting drop 1 campden tablet per gallon in the must and put an airlock in it. wait a minimum of 24 hours befor aerating and pitching the yeast.
 
Thanks...1 more question....I only have the K-meta in powder form, do you know how much I use per gallon???
