I bottled an IPA tonight, and I was wondering about the temperature of the primer. I used 3/4 cup of dextrose, which I brought to a slow, then short boil. What temp should I let the primer get down to before I add the beer from the secondary? Does it matter too much as long as I let it cool down while I'm getting everything else ready? Thanks.

Its such a small amount of water (should of been 1pint) that it doesnt really matter how much it cools, I just toss mine in the bottling bucket then add the beer to that, it mixes itself and it cools it a good amount just from the transfer into the bucket.

I usually put mine in a shallow water bath while getting everything else ready, but never worry about the temp, I'm sure it won't affect much.
