Keep in mind that I'm a newbie. I want to brew an ESB wih a little extra kick. I'm hoping I can get a little advice on my hop schedule.

1 lb. Maris Otter

1 lb. Crystal Malt 60L.

.5lb. Flaked Maize

.25 lb. Biscuit.

3.3 lb. Amber LME

3 lb. Light DME

Wyeast 1968

I have 2 oz. each of Challenger, Fuggles and EKG.

Can someone comment on how much and when?

Thanks.

I'd do 1.5 oz challenger at 60 minutes, 1 oz EKG at 15 minutes, and 1 oz EKG at flameout.
I also don't think that 1 lb Maris Otter is going to be able to convert 1/2 lb Flaked Maize. I'd dump the maize and bump up the M.O. a bit to compensate (if you feel the need).

Good luck,

-a.

That one turned out really good. I am doing partial mashes now. How does this sound?

6 lbs. Maris Otter

1 lb. Crystal 60

1/2 lb. Biscuit

1/2 lb. Flaked Maize

60 minutes at 152.

Bring to boil, add 3.3 lbs. Amber LME.

2 oz. Challenger at 60 min.

1 oz. Fuggles at 30 min.

1 oz. EKG at 5 min.

Wyeast 1968

Comments/help are appreciated.
