I purchased a Nostalgia Electrics Kegorator. I can't get it to drop below 45. I tried tweaking the regulator, but no luck. I am hoping the easiest solution is to control the power externally with a temperature regulated switch, with this:

If I just bypass the regulator will the fridge just stay on and let the switch kill the power at the right temp?

Is the built in thermostat turning off the compressor once it gets to 45 or is the compressor on all the time? If its the latter then you have a bad compressor and an external thermostat won't do you any good. If its the former then yes you can bypass the internal stat and use and external stat to get it below 45.
