So I decided to make an Oktoberfest Ale ('cause I can't lager right now) to be ready in about 8 weeks. I basically took some sort of combination between Edworts Oktoberfest Ale and Jamil's Oktoberfest.

For a 11 GALLON BATCH this is what my recipe is:

Malts:

8# German Pils
7# Munich
5# Vienna
2# Caramunich 60L

Hops:
3oz Hallertau 3.9AA 60 mins
1oz Hallertau 3.9AA 20 mins

Yeast:

Wyeast Kolsch (2565) w/ starter per mr. malty pitching rate calculator.

OG 1.052 (70% mash efficiency)

Here is the problem:

The Caramunich I got was 120L instead of 60L. I know this will make the color but how will it affect the flavor? Should I add more Hallertau because of the darker Caramunch Malts?

I've already bought and milled the crains so I'm stuck with this grain bill...

Thanks

Mike

You might be able to order the same grain bill again without the caramunich. Mix the two bills together, divide in half, and brew a batch with a second batch ready to go for next time.
