Well I just downloaded BeerTools Pro and I've been playing! haha. Anyway this is my first crack at a "homemade" recipe. It has also raised questions.
Size: 5.0 gal
Efficiency: 75.0%
Attenuation: 75.0%
Original Gravity: 1.067 (1.056 - 1.075)
Terminal Gravity: 1.017 (1.010 - 1.018)
Color: 14.58 (6.0 - 15.0)
Alcohol: 6.64% (5.5% - 7.5%)
Bitterness: 64.3 (40.0 - 70.0)
Ingredients:
1.0 lb American 2-row
1.0 lb American Victory
1.0 lb Caramel Munich 60L
6 lb Dry Light Extract
1.0 oz Amarillo (8.5%) - added during boil, boiled 30.0 min
1.0 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 20.0 min
1 oz Amarillo (8.5%) - added during boil, boiled 15.0 min
1 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 10.0 min
1 oz Amarillo (8.5%) - added during boil, boiled 5.0 min
1.0 ea WYeast 1056 American Ale
What are/how does one calculate Efficiency and Attenuation?? Those numbers just popped up on BeerTools, and I'm not sure if they are right/how was calibrates them?
Thank you for your help,
