From Goose Island it says ABV 5.2% IBU 29 SRM 50

From Midwest supplies:
6# amber liquid
8 oz brown malt
8 oz crystal 40
8 oz chocalate malt

1.5 oz glacier 60 min
.5 glacier 2 min

clean ale yeast

I plugged this into beer smith and midwest supplies on the web page has a way higher IBU around 50 and the SRM is at 21.4 but 50 is what goose island says..so it makes me think that goose island had the IBU and SRM mixed on there web page?..ir printed wrong either way///any one have this and have any insight?

I was going to do all grain but beer swith is acting wierd and not sure what amount of base malt but probably 8# of 2 row would work..not sure if this needs a touch of munich malt???or all 2 row..this is one tasty nut brown and wanted to work out a recipe that would be close..

Thats about what I was thinking...

It seems both Goose Island and Midwest are off with the IBU and SRM based on the recipe..

what does anyone think? who has had this Nut Brown..

This will be my first Nut Brown(which is amazing after 4 years of brewing)..but I figured it would be a nice quick brew for this winter..but as far as the recipe design and clone I really could use a bit of direction..the FG ends up around 1.012 so it seems an English ale yeast would be off but in the Goose Island description they say brewed from English standards..bla bla bla.

what do u think?

Jay

Any nut brown experts have any thoughts on this recipe?

Or was anyone purchased Midwest's version of this recipe?

just curious before I brew it up

I'd like more up to date info on the recipe myself. Has anyone made the AG version if so how close was it I'd like feedback on it possible future brew. ;)
