My second batch is fermenting away. My question is: Why is the airlock not bubbling (all the vodka is over to one side of the S) even though the pressure in the fermenter is forcing a bulge in the lid?

If the lid is bulging and the airlock fluid has moved then the excess pressure is just escaping somewhere else. Most likely the lid hasn't sealed completely. It's also possible your airlock has clogged so you may want to pop it out and make sure that isn't the case.

ehhh...you might want to fix now...an unsealed fermenter isn't good from what i read about

Nah, he's fine...if the CO2 is coming out, then nothing is getting in....

Remember Jer, it is for this very reason that we say around here that airlock bubbling, or lack thereof is not a good indicator of fermentation. The only way to tell is with a hydrometer.
