Hey All.

I have had a Brewers Best (Robust Porter) Kit sitting around for a while and just haven't gotten around to brewing it. Is there a a shelf life for the kit itself or any of the components (yeast, hops, etc.)?

Months or years? A couple months and everything should be ok. 6 months & any crushed grains are probably stale. Years & I'd replace everything except the extract.

The extract should be fine. If its dried yeast, it could be fine, but you'd probably want to test viability first with a small starter or something. The hops, if sealed in those oxygen and light barrier bags we all love should be fine, give them a whiff. If things smell good, they probably are. The specialty grains are the only thing I would worry about too much. If you are too afraid to use the stuff, you can always send it my way. :mug:
