So a funny smell has evolved in my IPA... When fermentation first started it smelled so good and now that primary fermentation has come close to ending the smell has changed a lot and not in a good way compared to what it smelled like at the beginning. Is it normal for the smell of the beer to change that much? Could this just be the beer settling it self out? Will it go back to having it's fresh floral smell once I dry hop?
Here is my recipe:
Briess Golden light dry extract 4 lbs
Coopers amber LME 3.3 lbs
Briess 2 row caramel 40 1 lbs
Briess 2 row carapils 1 lbs
Centennial pellets 1oz 60min
Citra pellets 1oz 30min
Citra pellets 1oz 10min
Citra pellets 1 oz dry
Wyeast labs American ale 1056
It's been fermenting at 70 degrees for 7 days now.
