I have just put my second partial in the fermenter. It's a larger and the yeast is asking for a temp range between 9-14c. I have never had to keep it that low so I have decided to put it in the fridge. Is this the right move? The fridge is hovering around 10-12c. Will it actually work at that temp.

OK you did not make a a tarter then. You will need to warm it up to around 19c till you see fermentation start then drop it down to 10c. For lager you have to make a huge starter to be able to pitch at the 10c range.

So I will take the keg out of the fridge and let it warm up, once I start to see fermentation I wil put it back in the fridge. If the termperature in the fridge is lower, does this also mean that the airlock will be less active?
