When using the Mrmalty starter calculator. It's important to put in the date the yeast was made to help calculate the viability. Unfortunatly, I've noticed the manufactures only put a "best before" date on the package. I know for the white labs vials the "born on" date is 4 months before the "best before" date.

What about wyeast and fermentis? Anybody know how far to count back when figuring the "born on" date from the "best before" date?

Anybody know how the dates work on the fermentis packages. I assume they are way longer then the liquid stuff. 2 years maybe?
