I don't like Red Hook either.
But it looks like Rainer will be brewed on a smaller level and sold regionally. That sounds cool.
 
Doesn't surprise me. Red Hook is a member of the Craft Brew Alliance which includes Red Hook, Widmer, Kona, and Omission. They brew each others beer. In other words, instead of shipping Kona to the west coast, they brew it at the Red Hook brewery, and distribute it from here and vice versa. The brew master will go to the brewery and do a run of thrir beer... just using borrowed equipment.
Sounds to me like they are just adding one more to the mix.
It;s better than brewing it in California.
 
Here's a view this morning from the front driveway. Nice that Rainier will once again be brewed in a building from which you can actually see Mount Rainier.
