Hey guys,

I know Propylene Glycol Alginate is used by the big beer manufacturers for better head retention. A friend of mine was on vacation and brought me back a pack of priming sugar which contains Dextrose, Powdered malt and Propylene Alginate. I have always had problems with my beers having no head, so I am seriously thinking about using it.

Anyone ever try anything like this?

Darren

Personally, I'd work on identifying the cause of the head retention issues and work on rectifying them before resorting to unnecessary additives.

Thanks Nurmey, that was a good read, that is exactly what I have, mine is just not made by Muntons.

I was thinking about using it in a Hoegaarden Clone, but now I am thinking about using it in my Pumpkin Ale, I think it will make it even awesomer (<---that is so a word).
