So today i was in a hurry to get grain before i had to go to work.
I am making a Belgian double. I get home tonight and look and my recipe and notice that i got cara-aromatic in place of just aromatic.

Im 35 bucks in for my grain bill at this point and its milled. Any thoughts as to what this will do to my final beer?

the recipe is Jamil's double.

10.6 pilsner
.5 special b
.5 aromatic 20L (in my case cara-aromatic 130L)
.5cara munich
.75 lbs dark candi
.5 cane sugar

I know it will be darker in color, but what about flavors and aroma?
:drunk:

It'll have more flavors appropriate to dark caramel malts - fig, raisin, dark fruit, rum.

Are the grains mixed? If so, you're humped if you had your heart set on the original recipe. If not, you have two options: Save the Special B for something else, or brew the beer and see if you like it. I suspect you'll like it. :)

bob thanks for the info.
The grain s are pretty well mixed.
I guess this is an excuse for me to do a extra batch and compare the 2 side by side.

At this point ill just split my starter and double them.
