Used yeast from a vial, first time. Wort was at the right temp but vial after 36 hours no activity got nervous and took off blow off tube and added a pack of dry yeast Wheat Ale strain. Anyone ever not used the recommended Yeast for their IPA. My initial thought is to keep the primary between 62-65 to limit fruitiness but not sure?

What was the original yeast? 36 hours isn't much for a vial without a starter, but I suspect at this point both yeasts will be working. Keeping the temperature at the low end of the range is always a good idea for an IPA.
