I'm looking at brewing 2.5gallon batches is there anything really I should do different versus a 5gallon batch besides the obvious of halfing all the ingredients.

Is there any issue with Kegging a half batch versus a full batch?

Just curious.

Thanks

This may be obvious to some or perhaps is unneeded but I tend to try to purge the O2 my keg a few more times with CO2 for 1/2 batches as opposed to 5 gallon sized bathes due to the extra head space.

I have also bought 5 gallon (maximum total volume) food grade plastic buckets from Walmart (in the paint department) to use for brew of 2.5-3.5 gallon sizes. the buckets and lids cost $3.50. Some people use buckets that have icing stored in them from pastry/bakery shops. These are usually 3-4 gallons in size and are sometimes free.

No I'm not doing a full 5gall batch split, just small batch on brew day.

Thanks for the info about the purging with the keg, and the buckets.
