puffed maize = Flaked maize ???

well im brewing tomorrow and completely forgot to get flaked maize for my recipe and i need a 1lb and my LHBS doesn't carry Flaked corn but my local organic foods Grocery carries Puffed corn can i use that as a substitute???

and if so is 1lb of Puffed corn = to one 1lb of Flaked corn
 
I think it would work, it is essentially popcorn. The 'puffing' process should make the starches available for conversion. Just make sure there is not sugar or salt or anything in it. My best guess would be to use it pound for pound.
 
Yea, almost positive it will be the same. I've never done it, but I have seen pictures of a member here who brewed with popcorn.
 
Thanks i just got my grains from the brewery and i am set to go will post something up when i get results cause i have used flaked before so i wonder if there will be a noticeable difference
