I was attempting to chill down my lager to pitching temps as fast as possible, so I turned down the lagerator to below freezing and put it in there. What I forgot was that I had an unopened package of Wyeast and an unopened vial of White Labs in there. It was only for maybe an hour, so they couldn't have frozen too much, but when I felt the Smack Pack, it was...slushy. Think I murdered all them Belgian yeasties?

with only an hour? no, those are stealthy little suckers. just use a starter when you use the yeast.

Cool. Good news, that. And don't worry...unless it's dried or it's slurry, I make starters. Big, bad starters. :rockin:
