Probably not, but I wouldn't make a practice of it. Report back here when you find out if you can taste it or not. 
I use 'em all the time and instead of just tossing the whole thing in, I use normal kitchen string, tie off the top in a reasonably loose knot and hang 'em from the side of my boil kettle.
the nice way of doing it that way is that I can pull up the bag, open it, and do hop additions really easily.
But sorry... don't know on the rubber taste. I haven't done that.

I use a hop spider, so the opening never gets in the boil.
