Convergence Convention

One of my hobbies is the Cow Asylum. It's a party we throw 2 times a year. Once at Convergence in Minneapolis and once at Capricon in Chicago-- both general interest Sci fi coventions. Here are some assorted picks from this year (none of the ones we took got up put yet):

It's a big fancy dress thing?

sort of. It's actually a convention where they get some authors and movie makers to show up and hold panels on various stuff. However after the panels are over the hotel turns into a great big frat party-- except without the self loathing and barely contained aggression.

The Cow Asylum is just one of many parties-- in fact as far as I know, none of us actually go to any of the convention stuff-- we just throw a party.

Kornkob, I have long suspected you were a phan, now I know for sure. I'm taking a quick break from setting up OSFES here in Omaha this weekend.

Do you know Gregg and Mirna? They are fellow phans and beer brewers. They just got down here from Minn and still recovering from Convergence. I am throwing an ICON party tonight with them and zipped home to get some food together.

Maybe we will meet something at a con.

the names sound familiar but we get 300-400 people at our party per night. Faces might help more than names. Or they might know me. In fact if they were up past midnight, our party was impossible to miss: we were the loud muthafarkers with all the dancing. : )

I go to exactly 2 cons: Convergence in Minn and Capricon in Chicago. I might be convinced to visit one of the 3 Madison, WI based cons but usually I don't go. My hobbies have to time share with my job and my friends.
