Natty Greene's Brewing Co. plans brewpub in Glenwood South
Sue Stock - Staff Writer

RALEIGH -- A Greensboro company is making plans to open a brewery pub in Raleigh, in the historic building recently occupied by the Prime Only steak house and sushi bar.

Natty Greene's Brewing Co., which has operated a brewpub in downtown Greensboro since 2004, signed a six-year lease and hopes to open the new bar this fall. Its owners plan to invest $2 million renovating the space.

It will be the third establishment to occupy the spot at West Jones Street since Progress Energy sold the building in the late 1990s. The former coal-fired steam plant generated electricity to run streetcars. It dates to 1910.
