My municipal water supply recently changed due to a major malfunction in the water pumping system. I would really like to brew and know the water is different. I'm being told approximately 30 - 45 days for the repairs to be completed. I want to have a new test done when everything is complete but would prefer not to have a test done that I know will change shortly.
The PH is 6.55 where my original supply is 7.9. If I substitute this value ONLY in Brun Water spreadsheet will the outcome be as accurate as before or do the other numbers that are missing play a major role in the final numbers?

No, the pH is probably the one thing that doesn't matter a bit. It's the other things in the water that contribute to the actual mash pH as well as the flavor.

I'd probably buy RO water at the store for this batch- they may have started adding more chlorine, or are using a totally different source, and so on.

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, they have switched sources and unfortunately it'll be awhile before it's back to the original. I'll look at the RO water at Wally World and build from that. Thanks again.
